The Bandit IndustriesLegacy
In 1983, Mike Morey Sr. and six employees built the first Brush Bandit chipper in a small Mid-Michigan warehouse. What began as Foremost Fabrications quickly grew into an industry powerhouse. In 1987, when Jerry Morey and Dennis Tracy joined as co-owners, the company name was changed to Bandit Industries, and sales soared.
The early 1990s saw Bandit introduce the first track chipper, and a few years later The Beast horizontal grinder was born, a machine still legendary for processing waste wood, plastic, roofing shingles, and other materials. The early 2000s brought stump grinders and track carriers with interchangeable forestry mower and stump grinding heads.
In 2018, founders Mike Morey Sr., Dianne Morey, and Jerry Morey made the landmark decision to sell 100 per cent of the company to employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). This ensured the corporate culture that made Bandit successful for over 35 years would remain intact, with every employee now having a stake in the company’s continued success.
