The Selvatici Legacy
The Selvatici story begins in 1915, when Vincenzo Selvatici started building animal-drawn ploughs before tractors had even been invented. After World War II, his sons Cecchino and Peppino became dealers of tractors and agricultural equipment throughout the province of Bologna. In 1969, Franco Selvatici, Cecchino’s son, founded the modern company and began building the first spading machines and post hole diggers, which he proudly presented at the 1970 Verona trade show.
Today, from their historic headquarters in San Lazzaro di Savena, near Bologna, Franco is joined by his wife Roberta and son Lorenzo, who became president in 2014, continuing the development of innovative agricultural equipment. This family tradition spanning four generations has developed unparalleled expertise in deep soil tillage technology.
Selvatici has won five EIMA Technical Innovation awards and holds numerous patents, including the patented gearbox system and rotary operator linkage designs. They remain the only company in Italy to manufacture their own gearboxes internally, ensuring maximum robustness and reliability.
