The Stoneless Story
Stoneless began with a simple problem that every farmer in stony ground will recognise: clearing fields of rocks is back-breaking, time-consuming work. Søren Vestergaard Kristensen grew up on a 400-hectare farm near Kjellerup in Jutland, Denmark, helping to collect stones from the fields every year as a child. By the time he was 15, he was already convinced there had to be a smarter way — and he began building the first prototypes of a stone collector in the farm barn.
After training as a blacksmith, Søren spent five years refining his design. The first commercial machines were sold in Denmark in the spring of 2019, starting with just four units in the first year. The machine quickly proved its worth, and within two years more than 100 had been sold in Denmark and Sweden alone. By 2024, over 400 units were in use across Europe and further afield, exported to the UK, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, and as far as Quebec, Canada.
In 2021, Asger Wildenschild, a trained farmer, joined the company to handle sales and business development. Today, Stoneless continues to be built by hand in Denmark from galvanised steel, with a straightforward design philosophy: make stone picking easy, quick, and kind to both the operator and the field.

Fully Seated Operation
The operator remains seated on the ATV throughout. No bending, no lifting, no back strain. All controls are mounted on the ATV handlebars, with a simple multi-function joystick for complete control of the machine.
5–10 Hectares Per Hour
Stoneless works at a pace that is simply impossible to match by hand. Depending on stone density, one operator can clear between 5 and 10 hectares per hour — achieving in a morning what a team would take days to finish on foot.
Minimal Soil Pressure
Four wide wheels distribute the machine's weight across the field, protecting young crops and allowing stone collection even after sowing. The ATV and machine combined are far lighter than a tractor and loader.
Independent Honda Engine
Power comes from a Honda GX200 (5.5hp) engine driving an independent hydraulic system. This means the stone collector operates independently of the ATV's own engine, keeping the ATV simple and the machine reliable.
Galvanised Steel Construction
Every vital component is made from galvanised steel for long-term durability. The design is deliberately straightforward — easy to service, easy to repair locally, and designed to last season after season in field conditions.
Hydraulic Side Displacement
The collector swings out on a hydraulic offset, working cleanly to the side of the ATV's wheel tracks. This offset positioning allows the machine to work the full row without disturbing ground the ATV has already passed over.
